Greetings!
Alpha Kappa Alpha became the nation’s first sorority established by African American women, at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on January 15, 1908, 112 years ago. Today, nearly 300,000 members worldwide continue to be SUPREME in "Service to All Mankind." 83 years ago, the Beta Psi Omega Chapter began serving Austin and surrounding communities throughout Central Texas. On May 7, 1938, the Beta Psi Omega Chapter was chartered in Austin, Texas in the “Sensational” South Central Region. We are Brilliant, Phenomenal, and Outstanding ladies with diverse backgrounds, accomplishments, professions, talents, and interests. Our membership spans multiple generations, from recent college graduates to retirees. Together this dynamic group of women address community needs with programs in education, health, family, and the environment. Our awarding-winning programs, brought to to life with guidance from our targeted International Service Program, make a positive impact locally and globally. I am honored to have the privilege to serve as the President of this PREMIER Chapter. We look forward to working with local and national leaders, community partners, and sponsors to forge greater service programming with a positive impact on others at home and around the world. Sincerely, Kizzy LeJay Chapter President Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Beta Psi Omega Chapter |
